"I" in Fishers
Fishers, Indiana
In 2019, the City of Fishers invited its citizens to become the "I" in Fishers. This interactive art installation was the brainchild of students from the 2018-2019 fourth-grade class at Harrison Parkway Elementary School. During the “Track To Trail” community outreach initiative in 2018, the City of Fishers challenged students across Hamilton Southeastern School District to imagine what the Nickel Plate Trail could look like in Fishers. The students came up with hundreds of ideas, including an art piece that would live on the trail celebrating Fishers, the central Indiana region, and the State of Indiana.
The City of Fishers and the Fishers Arts & Cultural Commission hired Loci Creative to translate the students' vision into the final artwork installation. From left to right, the images represent Fishers High School Tigers, the waterways of Fishers, the state flower, HSE High School Royals, Fishers history and future, the state bird, and Fishers parks.
