What is Placemaking?
"Placemaking" is a word used to describe the process of planning, designing, and creating public spaces for the betterment of the community. In order to successfully create lasting places that improve our communities, it is important to consider the environmental context of the place as well as the social context.
Using an artistic approach, places can be reimagined for a more vibrant community. Using the knowledge of city planning, places can better integrate with the needs of the community. Finally, using the field of landscape architecture, places can better integrate the community with the natural environment.
